Joseph Steinberg To Speak At 2026 International Summit Against Human Trafficking

Joseph Steinberg will speak at the US Capitol on Thursday, July 23rd, as part of the 5th International Summit Against Human Trafficking.

The International Summit Against Human Trafficking brings together survivors, leaders, advocates, and frontline professionals who share an important mission: to end human trafficking.

In addition to Steinberg, speakers and panelists at the summit will include Members of Congress, International Advocates, Law-Enforcement Agents, Survivors, and other Specialists in creating and deploying effective anti-trafficking mechanisms.

Human trafficking is a highly lucrative criminal enterprise, and generates an estimated $236 billion in illegal profits every year. At any given point in time, an estimated 27.6 million people worldwide are trapped in human trafficking situations (including situations of forced labor and sex slavery), according to data from the United Nations’ International Labour Organization (ILO). If forced marriages are included, the broader figure for individuals living under modern-day slavery reaches almost 50 million people.

Human trafficking can be stopped only through collective action. Survivors are at the center, guiding work and helping to shape more effective solutions than existed previously. Frontline professionals and organizations share proven strategies that lead to real and lasting change. And The International Summit Against Human Trafficking, organized by the Kaleido non-profit in conjunction with various other organizations, facilitates positive changes as experts collaborate to collectively battle the terrible crime that is human trafficking.
